What is hypnosis? Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility, where an individual’s subconscious mind becomes more receptive to suggestions, even self-suggestions. It can be a state of mind very similar to a state of mind of a person in deep meditation or prayer. It is often used for transformational purposes, such as pain management, stress reduction, and behavior modification.
How does hypnosis work? With hypnosis, the conscious mind is bypassed allowing direct communication with the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind has learned many behaviors that may negatively impact mental and physical states. These learned habits can be relearned through suggestion in the process of hypnosis.
With what can hypnosis help? Hypnosis can aid in managing various conditions such as chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia, phobias, and addiction. A hypnotist can help individuals access their subconscious mind to address and change behaviors and thought patterns.
Can anyone be hypnotized? Most people have the capacity to be hypnotized to some degree. It can vary from person to person. You don’t have to believe in hypnosis in order to benefit from it. Some individuals are more naturally responsive to hypnotic suggestions, while others might require more effort to enter a hypnotic state. A skilled hypnotist can work with a person to enhance their responsiveness to hypnosis. A person under hypnosis still has control over their actions.
How does it feel to be hypnotized? Being hypnotized can feel like a deep state of relaxation. Others may feel more focused and absorbed in their thoughts. While in a hypnotic state, you remain aware of your surroundings and can hear and respond to the hypnotist’s suggestions. You are in a deeply relaxed state which allows you to access your subconscious mind more readily.
How many sessions of hypnosis are usually needed to see results? The number of hypnosis sessions needed varies depending on the individual and the specific issue being addressed. Some people experience positive changes after just one session, while others might require four or more sessions. The effectiveness of hypnosis can be influenced by factors like the nature of the problem, the individual’s responsiveness to hypnosis, and their willingness to actively engage in the transformational process.
What can I expect on my first visit? The first hypnosis session is usually about 1 ½ hours long. The first part is a pre-talk about your challenges in a current situation and your information. Next, Gail will begin a hypnotic guide through an induction and hypnosis session. After the first session, individuals may feel empowered with new understandings and insights, while having a sense of satisfaction and relief.
Do you accept insurance? No. Visa, Master Card, Venmo, Cash, and PayPal are accepted. Sessions are paid in full at the time the session appointment is made.
Can I Learn Self-hypnosis? Yes! Self-hypnosis is a further enhancement to your well-being. With practice, you will be able to induce a hypnotic state that will allow you to work on furthering you own personal transformation. You will have another skill to create even more positive changes in your life beyond the sessions.
